The building is very unassuming and, honestly, a bit trashy. Not enough to keep us away, though. With such high reviews, we had to try this place.
We ordered one Original Navajo Taco and one Green Chile Navajo Taco.
Curiously, the original seemed to have more flavor than the green chile.
Both of them were… fine.
We weren’t raving about the food on the drive home. It was all just decent. Served on paper plates with plastic utensils and thin napkins. None of that is bothersome to me if the food is great, but when the food is mediocre, you have to make up for it with the atmosphere. They didn’t do either.
That aside, there was an older woman who took our order, and we loved her. She was funny, kind, and helped to keep our baby entertained as we ate.
Doubt I’d ever come back here. Just not worth the price.
I was craving a Navajo taco and they had just the thing to satisfy that craving! The fry bread was perfect. The flavors of the beans and meat were a great combo. Don’t forget to finish your meal with a sweet fry bread!
Love me a good Navajo taco. Haven't had one like this since living in Arizona. They make em right here! Went with the red chili taco which was the lunch special. Thought I was done and they brought out a dessert taco that came with the special. Definitely going again.
I’ve been driving past the Hogan for twenty five years.
I just finished my first traditional taco ever from the Navajo Hogan.
They have me for the next twenty five years.
So quit driving by and drive on over.
Or order delivery.
lol
No seriously, really, really simple and really, really good.
The fry bread is pretty yummy. Owner is super cool. I recommend this place to anyone that wants some good fry bread and an Indian taco.
Absolutely love this place! If you have never had native frybread you don’t know what you’re missing. This place feels homey and authentic, and the staff welcome you like family. The frybread by itself is good on its own, but you should definitely try the sweet frybread. You won’t be disappointed. The food is authentic and served just like it should be. More than fine and far from trashy. When you know the origins of frybread, it will taste that much better. 🧡
Always excited to pass through salt lake because it means I get to eat here!! I've been twice now, and it's been amazing both times. This time I got to meet the owner, who was super kind. Thanks for the amazing food!!
Worth going to Salt Lake City just to try. Being from the Eastern US, there aren’t really any Navajo restaurants, so I’ve never had any of this food before, but I was absolutely blown away. The fry bread and blue corn are fluffy, crunchy, and hold up to the juicy filling really well. Bought some blue cornmeal and pozole, time to figure out how to make this at home
